2020-2021 Art Show
"Lost & Found"
In so many ways, we were lost and now we’re found. At least that’s what it felt like this past COVID year. What better way to celebrate our community of creativity than by an interactive trail experience. Safely spaced, follow the Nature Trail loop and find all 33 mask sculptures. Post up at the start with a ball of yarn. Tie it to a tree or stake and trace your journey as you go. Unwind your past path. Unravel your future face. We’re not only finding our way, we’re creating our way around this new way of being. The more you visit the show the more colorful a connection will develop. The more lost and alone our art was once, the more grateful and glorious it is to be found. Big/Little Art was remote these past months. The focus was on Line, Form, Found Object, Pop and Conceptual Art, as well as Negative/Positive Shapes. Students were often asked to create something from nothing. Creativity was tested. Our last session was our first group together. Outdoors, we made our own sawdust clay. Using all natural materials in a hands on project we then shaped face masks. Themes of concealing and revealing are inherent in this display. Lost and Found seeks to return us to our senses away from screens and into nature. Take the tour. Take the cure.
